Overdraft Protection

Prevent unnecessary fees when you sign up for overdraft protection from Westbound.

While it is important for you to use your checking account responsibly and never intentionally overdraw your account, we understand that sometimes funds are tight or you miscalculate your available balance. With overdraft privilege, you can choose from several options to shield yourself from the negative consequences should an overdraft occur. We strive to provide you with excellent service and protection; however, we are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient collected funds.

Transfer from Another Account
If you have other accounts with us — savings account, money market account or another checking account — you can authorize us to transfer the funds needed to cover your overdraft.

Line of Credit
For qualifying applicants, a line of credit called cash reserve is available to cover overdrafts. This service requires you to complete an application and approval is based on your credit worthiness.

Overdraft Privilege
As a courtesy to our valued customers, Westbound Bank will generally pay overdraft items up to $300 for consumer accounts (personal checking accounts). However, whether overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and Westbound reserves the right to refuse payment. Additionally, any and all bank fees and charges, including, without limitation, our Overdraft Fee of $29 per item apply and will be subtracted from the $300 overdraft limit. We typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits or you have too many overdrafts. All deposits to overdrawn accounts are applied to the negative balance.

Please note the overdraft privilege service does not constitute an actual or implied agreement between you, the customer, and the Bank. Nor does it constitute an actual or implied obligation of or by the Bank. Overdraft privilege is a discretionary service we add to your checking account, subject to the eligibility criteria as explained in the Overdraft Privilege Terms & Conditions document. This service represents a purely discretionary courtesy or service that the Bank may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by the Bank any time without prior notice or reason or cause.

Positive Pay

Westbound Bank is proud to offer Positive Pay, an automated fraud detection tool offered with our Cash Management product. Positive Pay allows us to catch and prevent check fraud to help you feel safe and secure.

With this tool, we have the ability to match the account number to the check and dollar amount of each check that is presented for payment against a list of checks provided to our host company. If the checks match, the payment is processed. However, if a match is not made due to any reason, the check will be placed on an exception list, and the customer will be notified. At that point, the customer can login and approve or return the exception item.
